Delphi Satellite Radio

Delphi Satellite Radios provide XM Radio with electronics. You pay a small monthly fee and get commercial free music programming. Until Feb 2004 there were many channels with commercials on Delphi XM Radio. By the end of April, their supposed to phase out all commercials on music channels. That would be good, because commercials are a bother when you want your music.

There is a large selection of different types of programming including sports, news, entertainment radio and music.

Radio is restricted by distance (around 40-100 miles) and what's called "line-of-site". Line-of-site has to do with how far one can see or a signal can travel in a straight line without the view or signal being obstructed by something like mountains, hills etc. Have you ever experienced the static and signal loss while driving your car or moving around? Delphi Satellite Radios have no such difficulty since the satellites are in space. This means that there are no distance or obstruction difficulties. Available Units

Delphi XM Roady -This is XM Radio's basic car unit and runs about $120.

Delphi XM Skifi -This has the advanced display. This portable unit runs about $200.

Delphi XM Skifi home adapter kit is used for home applications. It runs about $200.

XM Commander - It works with any fm radio. It's relatively easy to install and runs about $160.

XM PCR-The XM PCR which stands for personal computer receiver, connects to and is controlled by your PC and runs about $50.

Delphi XM Radios Audio Receiver - This is the portable unit. It requires the Delphi XM Skifi unit and runs about $100. Delphi Satellite Radios are also available for business.

Delphi Satellite Radios offer a multi room home receiver. This advanced audio tuner called "The Tune Suite" is a computer controlled tuner that can be configured with AM, FM, WX (weather) and XM Radio. "The Tune Suite" is designed for multi-room installations. You can listen to up to four different stations at the same time and you can combine up to seven of these units. They run about $200 each.

Subscription Costs

Delphi Satellite Radios cost $9.99 per month. This is for all channels except the Playboy Radio which is an additional $2.99 per month. There are special offer's on multiple and prepaid subscriptions also. For your second to fifth XM Radio the price drops to $6.99 per month each on radio's 2-5. This is called the "Family Plan" and is available with credit card billing on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual billing plan. The prepaid, multi-Year package is a great deal also. You just want to make sure you'll continue to want Delphi XM Radio for that period of time. Two years are $199.00 ($8.29/mnth), three years at $289.00 ($8.03/mnth), four year at $369.00 ($7.69/mnth) and five year at $449.00 (7.48/mnth).
